COLUMBIA - A leadership change could be on the way for the Mid-Missouri Mental Health Center, bringing the threat of layoffs.

The University of Missouri Hospital system is in talks to take over the health center currently run by the Department of Mental Health. Mental Health Center workers received an email Tuesday about the possible transition, causing some concern.

“There are a lot of unhappy employees because of the fact some of them might lose their jobs, some of them are a little concerned about their future,” says employee Lee Lewis.
